What Notion can still see
Your pages and files themselves, though Notion says its support team opens them only after you grant access, for 28 days by default.

On business plans, some Enterprise customers can supply their own encryption key in an early beta, but Notion's servers still use that key to open their pages.

Email is worth checking next: Gmail, Outlook and iCloud Mail can all read your mailbox. See which email services can.

Can Notion employees read my pages?

Notion says its support team only looks at your account or workspace to fix a problem or recover content, after you contact them and turn on access2. That access ends after 28 days by default, and support asks before each action2. Notion says every employee and contractor signs non-disclosure terms3.

That is a promise about access, not a lock: Notion holds the keys to your pages1.

Is Notion end-to-end encrypted?

No. Notion says your data is encrypted on the way and at rest, with keys it rotates regularly1. No end-to-end encryption announced as of 25 October 2026.

Its business option to bring your own key, in early beta for some Enterprise customers, still has Notion use that key to encrypt and open workspace data4.
