Is email encrypted?
Mostly not. Nearly all email is encrypted on the way, but Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail and iCloud Mail hold the keys to your mailbox, so they can read it. Proton Mail and Secria Mail seal mail between their own users and lock your stored mailbox.
Sorted by how many parts are sealed by default, then by how many can be. Ties go A to Z.

Want a mailbox only you can read?
Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo Mail and iCloud Mail all hold the keys to your mailbox. Secria Mail is the email we make: your mailbox is locked with a key made from your password, on your device. We don't read your mail, show ads or build a profile.
